It works to catch about 40 pints water a day in my basement. I then used the pump and pumped the water over 6 feet and got about 20 pints of water a day.

Compressor failure
The compressor has now failed and the dehumidifer is not worth repairing, 1 year and 11 months after purchase. This is the second delonghi machine that has failed.

Died after 2nd year – Bucket doesnt fill and water spills on floor
I thought this was a wonderful for the 2 years that it worked. I paid top dollar for this Delonghi as they were in high demand when I purchased it and were no where to be found…

I always loved this machines, the only cons I always noticed, and that’s why I stopped buying them, was that I always needed to work on the machine and empty the tank.

Honest feedback – Buyer beware
I purchased the Delonghi DE400P from Amazon in April 2008. After reading medeocre reviews, I ignorantly bought this unit because of the pump feature I couldn’t find elsewhere.

It May NOT Be The PUMP
Like a lot of you, we bought the Delonghi strictly because of the pump feature. The dehumidifier worked great for the first season.

I admit I was reluctant given some of the negative reviews I saw, but my experience was very good. The product arrived on time, set-up took maybe 5 minutes, and it works great…

Lasted a year.
Lasted one year. Just threw it away in the dumpster. Pump frequently did not work and I constantly emptied by hand. Huge wast of money. Don’t purchase.
